People’s Foundation is tackling the growing problem of young adults being made homeless on the streets of Manchester. Our Job is to go out and provide a hot meal, understand and resolve why this is happening. A home is very important to a person a place that provides sanctity, privacy, security and links oneself to a community and support network.
According to official figures the number of people sleeping rough in Greater Manchester has risen nearly 50 percent in a year between 2014 and 2015, however campaigners say its much more.
Homelessness has a serious impact on young people with long term implications for their education, health and employment prospects and can lead to an escalation of substance abuse.
We have teamed up with the Homeless Project Team who is mainly focused on feeding and resolving issues with homeless individuals in Manchester. Through partnership and perseverance we can tackle this issue together. The Homeless Project Team teams go out every week if anyone would like to volunteer or donate clothes and food please get in contact with us. We rely on your contribution we are not government funded. Lets tackle this together because ‘Alone we can do so little together we can do so much.’
